Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") explains how you may use Etcera, operated by Akimi Labs Ltd. ("Etcera," "we," "us," or "our"). By using Etcera, you agree to this AUP, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy.
Etcera Space is a private place to think, decide, and act with an assistant that stays attached to what you intend. It is not a publishing or social platform. This policy exists so that you can use AI safely and responsibly, and so that what you write stays yours.
1. Universal standards
Use Etcera responsibly and lawfully. You agree not to use it in ways that:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe the rights or safety of others
- Harm, exploit, or deceive people or communities
2. Private thinking
Etcera Space is your private environment. We do not read or monitor what you write there. Our role is to safeguard your data, not to police lawful expression.
You may explore ideas and feelings freely, including difficult or unconventional ones, provided your use stays lawful and respects the rights of others. If you share material outside your private space, you are responsible for ensuring it:
- Does not harm or mislead others
- Respects privacy and intellectual property
- Complies with applicable law
We act only when use becomes illegal or reportable, for example a credible threat of violence or the exploitation of a child.
3. Privacy and your data
What we collect, what we do and do not do with it, and your rights over it are set out in the Privacy Policy. Privacy questions and requests go to our Privacy Officer, Anissa Agahchen, at [email protected].
4. Prohibited activities
You may not use Etcera to:
Break the law
- Commit or assist fraud, trafficking, money laundering, or other crimes
- Infringe copyright, trademarks, or data protection law
- Acquire or distribute controlled substances
Violate privacy or identity
- Upload or share other people's personal data without consent
- Stalk, harass, or impersonate anyone
- Attempt to access or expose private information
Harm children
- Create, distribute, or promote material that exploits minors
- Facilitate grooming, sextortion, or predatory behaviour
- Create or share AI-generated child sexual abuse material
Etcera defines a minor as anyone under 18 and reports suspected child exploitation to law enforcement.
Deceive
- Spread knowingly false or misleading information
- Impersonate organisations or public figures
- Present AI-generated content as human-authored where that misleads
Defraud or abuse
- Run scams, phishing, or pyramid schemes
- Produce fake documents or deceptive media
- Exploit vulnerable people
Misuse the platform
- Circumvent security or technical limits
- Reverse engineer, overload, or probe our systems
- Share login credentials or create multiple accounts to evade limits
5. Responsible use of the assistant
The assistant's output can be wrong. It is information, not advice, and it does not replace a qualified professional.
- Decisions about legal, medical, financial, employment, housing, or academic matters should involve the appropriate professional.
- Keep a human in the loop, and disclose AI involvement when you use output publicly or professionally.
- Observations about sleep, focus, fitness, or productivity are not medical advice.
Within Etcera, the assistant proposes and you decide. Nothing it suggests is applied to your record until you accept it. That boundary is yours to rely on, and it is also yours to respect: take responsibility for what you do with what the assistant gives you.
6. Monitoring and enforcement
Etcera is built for trust and privacy, not surveillance. We act only when a violation is reported to us or becomes visible through public or shared activity (section 2).
When necessary, we may:
- Give notice or a warning, for a minor or first violation
- Suspend an account temporarily, for repeated or serious misuse
- Terminate access, for illegal or harmful activity
Where the law requires it, for example a credible threat, child sexual abuse material, or evidence of planned violence, we will report to the relevant authorities.
Every action is proportionate, respects privacy, and follows due process.
7. Reporting and appeals
If you believe this AUP has been violated:
- Email [email protected] with the relevant context. Malicious or false reports may themselves result in action.
If your account is restricted, you may appeal to the same address. Appeals are reviewed independently of the original decision.
8. Intended use
Etcera exists to help people see more clearly, choose more intentionally, do more of what matters to them, and remain the author of who they are becoming. It is not a substitute for human expertise or human relationships.
By using Etcera, you agree to uphold these principles.
