Terms of Service

Last updated October 8, 2026

Etcera Space is AI in service of your becoming. It helps you understand what matters to you, see what is possible, choose what comes next, and do more of what you choose, while you remain the author. The assistant participates. You author.

Welcome to Etcera, operated by Akimi Labs Ltd. ("Etcera," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Etcera Space and the Etcera website.

By creating an account or using Etcera, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they reference.

Related policies

These Terms work together with:

  • Privacy Policy: what we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights over it
  • Acceptable Use Policy: how Etcera may and may not be used
  • Sub-Processor Registry: the third parties that process your data on our behalf

1. Acceptance and consent

By using Etcera, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and the policies above. You consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy, consistent with applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA in Canada and the CCPA/CPRA in California.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
  • Accounts are personal and individual. You may not share your login with others.
  • You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
  • Etcera Space is currently offered by invitation, to people in Canada (except Quebec) and the United States.

3. Your content and your rights

Ownership

  • You own everything you create in Etcera: your thoughts, intentions, notes, beliefs, attachments, and what you say in a voice session.
  • You also own what Etcera generates from your content: the assistant's replies, suggestions, titles, and summaries.

Licence to Etcera

  • By using Etcera, you grant us a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely to provide the service to you and to keep it working.
  • We claim no ownership of your content.
  • The licence covers nothing else. What we do and do not do with your information, including that we do not use it to train AI models, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Other people's personal information

  • Do not upload or write about other people's personal information without their consent or another lawful basis.
  • You are responsible for having the authority to process any personal data you bring into Etcera.

4. You remain the author

  • You decide. The assistant proposes, and nothing it proposes is applied to your record until you accept it. What you wrote, what it proposed, and what you accepted are kept as distinct things.
  • We do not overwrite your past. A change to something you wrote is recorded as a new version and the earlier versions are kept, until you delete your account.
  • We do not create friction or cultivate reliance to keep you. You can close your account at any time (section 8).
  • What we do and do not do with your information, and what we are still building, is in the Privacy Policy.

5. Account security and responsibilities

Your obligations

  • Keep your login confidential and do not share it.
  • Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • Keep your account information accurate.

Our security measures

  • We implement reasonable security measures to protect your account and data; the Privacy Policy describes them.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that pose a security risk or violate these Terms.

Where your data lives

  • Your data is stored in Canada, on servers we operate. The Privacy Policy says where processing happens, and the Sub-Processor Registry says by whom.

6. Acceptable use

This section summarises acceptable and prohibited uses. The Acceptable Use Policy has the full terms.

Permitted uses

  • Use Etcera for lawful personal and professional purposes.
  • Respect others in any shared feature.
  • Report bugs, vulnerabilities, or security concerns responsibly.

Prohibited uses

You may not use Etcera to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Harass, stalk, discriminate against, or harm others
  • Upload malicious code, spam, or other harmful content
  • Attempt to hack, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the platform
  • Infringe intellectual property rights
  • Interfere with elections, spread political disinformation, or exploit vulnerable people
  • Rely on Etcera's output for medical, legal, or financial decisions in place of a qualified professional

7. Early access, subscriptions, and payment

  • Etcera Space is in invite-only early access. There is no charge during early access.
  • Subscription prices and the trial, renewal, and cancellation terms are listed on the subscription page, not in these Terms. We will tell you before your first payment and never charge you without telling you.
  • Payment, when it exists, will be processed by a payment provider listed in the Sub-Processor Registry. We will not store your card details.

8. Ending your account

Closing your account

  • You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to our Privacy Officer, Anissa Agahchen, at [email protected] from the email address on the account. We do not yet offer self-serve deletion, and we will say so until we do.
  • When we close your account, we erase your data as the Privacy Policy describes.

Termination by us

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • We will give reasonable notice where we can, except for serious violations.

9. Service availability and changes

  • We work to keep Etcera available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
  • We may update these Terms and the policies they reference, as described in section 10.

10. Updates to these Terms and policies

  • The "Last Updated" date is posted at the top of each document.
  • We will communicate material changes by email or in-app notice.
  • Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
  • Policy updates are coordinated so the documents stay consistent with each other.

11. Limitation of liability

  • Etcera is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • The assistant's output can be wrong. It is information, not professional advice, and you decide what to do with it.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing law and disputes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
  • Disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

13. Contact

  • Questions about these Terms, or anything else: [email protected]
  • Privacy questions and requests: our Privacy Officer, Anissa Agahchen, at [email protected]

The Privacy Policy has our mailing address.

These Terms are written to comply with applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA (Canada) and the CCPA/CPRA (California). By using Etcera, you acknowledge that you have read and understood them.
